Zoom-Zoom

Maren and Ken are car shopping so Brian and I tagged along to the car show this weekend. Not a good idea when you drive a 10 year old Mazda 626 with 165,000 miles. I fell in love with the Mazda CX-9. Unfortunately the budget doesn't allow for 2 car payments.

Brian and his dad have been working on finishing our basement all by themselves this winter. It is really starting to come along. They sheet rocked the ceiling in the family room this weekend.

Adoption news has gone from bad to worse and at this point we are clinging to the tiniest bit of hope this adoption is even a possibility for us anymore. So please, please, please pray for us and especially for a child in a Russian orphanage that needs a family. We will hopefully know more in the next couple weeks (Russian time, of course :)

Dress Shopping

This weekend bridesmaids from near and far gathered to try on bridesmaid dresses. We found some great options but Maren is not completely sold on one yet. Mom on the other hand found lots of favorites, too bad no one else agreed.

After shopping we met the boys for lunch.
Krista, Maren and I had our annual cousins weekend we started 9 years ago when Krista was in Kindergarten. It always involves a shopping trip. This year it was fun to have Megan and Isabelle too.Aunt Nancy found her prom dress.

Update

February came and went without a referral. Our agency told us there has been a slow down in our region due to the database operator being ill and an audit by the Ministry of Education. This would have been fine except they also noticed that referrals to American couples have basically stopped, possibly due to the verdict in the Harrison Case. This hit me hard since it seems like just when we are so close something happens and we have to start at the beginning. Once again we are waiting to hear from our agency about what happens next.

On a happier note it was First Thursday this week. We had one of Kenny Z's favorites again. He picked a homemade version of Donatelli's heart stopper pizza. It looked fantastic! I had Canadian bacon with reduced fat crust and reduced fat cheese, it was not fantastic. I must be motivated, usually after a week like this one all I want to do is eat. I didn't even crack and have a Mountain Dew.

Speaking of do we look 57 lbs lighter?

Yes, I know it is only a picture of our heads. Isn't Brian hilarious?

Birthdays and Babies

This weekend we celebrate Ali's birthday at The Basement and Shawna's soon to be baby boy with a baby shower at Dorla's. It's always fun to catch up with family I haven't seen for awhile!

I was shocked to learn this week that a square piece of bakery cake with frosting is 8 ww points. Yes, it has started to take over my life!
