Como Zoo

It finally got nice in Minnesota so we, along with everyone else, decided to go to Como Zoo. Anders favorite exhibit, this drain.

Even though these monkeys put on a good show,

Como Town was open for business,

and the mist machines were even on.

Better Than Last Year

In early May I thought spring might never come, but looking back at the same time last year made me feel better. Last year we still had ice on the lake in May.

 

Moon Sand

We had monsoon season in early May with a few too many, make homemade moon sand and play robots in a fort, type of days. We used the baby oil and flour moon sand recipe, it worked great.

Favorite Park

My favorite park is Tamarack Nature Center's Discovery Hollow. Not a swing or slide to be found just lots of dirt and water, rocks to climb and sticks to build with.

We went to see the cows, chicks, ducks and alpacas at Donna and George's farm. Anders was most interested in George's bus. He totally biffed it on the bottom step when getting out. Good thing we have practice that would be so embarrassing the first day of school.

Spring Shopping

The Year Of "As Seen On TV"

Every year birthday dinners in my family have a theme. 2010 was the year of the burger, 2011 was breakfast and 2012 was Italian. This year we had to choose a restaurant that was featured on TV. Jessie ended the year at Emily's Lebanese Deli. Yummy olives, hummus and tabuli and we had the upstairs to ourselves!

 Mom chose Modern Cafe to celebrate her birthday. We haven't voted yet but I think it will win because of the pot roast. I'm not kidding. It was THAT good. Yep, I said pot roast.

Brian chose Dave and Busters, of course. He tells us it was on an episode of It's Always Sunny.

We celebrated with Bianca at Victor's 1959 Cafe. Super cute place!

Ken chose Donatelli's, a long time family favorite that made it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives.

Maren chose Nye's Polonaise.

Bernie wanted some help at the Lake House so we got take out Famous Daves.

Oddly enough we do not have a birthday until the end of May when Lisa kicked things off at Psycho Suzi's.

I celebrated my birthday at Smack Shack.
