Awesome Fall

We had a beautiful fall weekend in the middle of October. Temps were in the 70s for our annual trip to Pine Tree Apple Orchard in honor of Grandpa Al's Birthday.
Anders and Elise were ticked they were playing and didn't get to help make Great Grandma Sansgaard's apple crisp. So they made their own. Even Harper got in on the action.

The next day was 85 degrees!!! We helped Grandma Jane and Papa Bernie finish harvesting their garden.
And took a short cut through the woods and found a rock pile I used to climb on at my Grandma and Grandpas.

Seriously, only Papa Bernie could get the kids to all sit in one spot and listen.

Cousin Sleepover

I had to work a couple weekends in a row but Anders was busy having sleepovers with his cousins.
His Thiele twin, Noelle.
This might be one reason he was hoping for a brother.

Crafts with Hannah and Grandma Dorla.

The Arboretum

We spent a beautiful fall day at the Landscape Arboretum. The Arboretum is a fun place for all ages and Grandma Jane said it made her disappointed in the New York Botanical Garden. We made it through the hedge maze without losing any kids. It was a challenge.
Spent some time in scarecrow village.
And fell in love with the natural playground.

Harvest

We made the trip to Iowa this fall to visit family and "help" with harvest. Anders and Reuben were in heaven. Farmer Jake and Farmer Ben were really nice to let the boys tag along on the combine and tractor.

We also had fun with Megan and Jon at Center Grove Orchard.

We did some shopping at Van Wall in Story City.

And even got to drive the gator around the farm.

Dentist

First dentist appointment. A little late but no cavities! He did great!

Not Yet

Anders begs to go to indoor parks all summer long but the winters are so long I feel like I need to save them for cold weather. But after a couple rainy days in a row he talked me into Good Times Park (or the park where you can play basketball, football and soccer.) I can't believe how big he is this year.

Pizza Barn

The pizza barn in Northfield lived up to the hype! As expected, we waited in line 45 minutes to place an order and waited almost two hours for our pizza. Luckily, we were prepared for this. The setting was gorgeous and the cousins had fun running around while we waited. In the end it was worth it and we will definitely go back.
There were horses to pet and feed carrots.
Soy beans to shuck.
And plenty of family to keep each other entertained.
The pizza was pretty tasty too!
