I Still Can't Believe It
I did not grow up in a camping family so I was shocked that the first ever S-W family camping trip at Itasca State Park was a success.
The park is so gorgeous and so huge that I don't recommend trying to do it in a day, like we did. We crossed the headwaters of the Mississippi.

Risked our lives on tandem bikes! Those trails are hilly, curvy and scary. Turns out I don't trust Brian as much as I thought. Kidding Bri!
Cruised around Lake Itasca. The entire lake is within the state park so there are no houses or private cabins. It was beautiful and peaceful (except for Jeff's loon calls.)

Climbed to the top of the fire tower.

We learned the difference between the white pine (left) and the red pine (Minnesota's state tree on the right) and saw lady slippers (MN state flower) in bloom.
And still managed to relax by the fire and eat lots of tasty food.

I'm hoping this becomes an annual event.

There was a time I thought I would never see my mom camp or ride a motorcycle. If those miracles can happen maybe there is hope Brian and I might actually be parents some day :)

Yep, that's poison ivy.
