Muddy Pig and Other Projects

This spring we made a stained glass cross for Easter,

a muddy pig to go with our trips to see the baby farm animals,

got an Anders' eye view of the earth for Earth Day and colored a bunny to go with my favorite children's book Home for a Bunny.

Random Spring

I almost talked myself into participating in a garage sale until I remembered how much work they were for how little money and I donated the stuff instead. Anders had a blast helping me unsticker everything.

Right now Anders favorite activities involve emptying cupboards and drawers, climbing up and down stairs and feeding/tormenting Abby.

Retakes

Awhile ago Anders' school did spring pictures.  Do all schools take pictures twice a year?  Anyway, they did not fall on a day care day and we love the pictures cousin Ali takes so we decided not to bring him in until his teachers really wanted him to be in the class picture.  While he was there they decided they would take a couple shots in case we changed our minds.  Of course they were adorable and we had to get 2 poses.  We talked ourselves down from all 4.

The Hike

I think all the talk of referendums when I was a kid sunk in because I'm a sucker for a public school fund raiser.  So one rainy Saturday we found ourselves walking to raise money for some of our favorite elementary students and their school.

 The students from all the elementary schools donated 400 lbs of pop tabs to The Ronald McDonald house so guess who showed up?  Ronald McDonald himself!  I'm not sure if I should be more concerned with my child's lack of a healthy fear of clowns or his obsession with the flashing lights on a police car.

The Zoo x 2

We went to see the baby farm animals at the zoo a couple time this spring. Did you know that Good Friday is the zoo's busiest day of the whole year with around 20,000 visitors? Neither did we. In hind site not the best day to go but it was fun to go with Uncle Jeff and the younger members of his wedding party. I'm thinking wedding pictures could be interesting.

 

Everett was still able to get closer than he wanted to a goat.

Anders has so much fun at the zoo and he really hasn't even noticed the animals yet

We went back with the Perkins on what Emma said was "the coldest day of her life." But we had the barns to ourselves!

More Birthday

This time the party was for Great Grandma Angie who turned 93 just a couple days after Anders turned 1.

Notice the outfit Anders is wearing? Grandma Angie spent a lot of time picking out the perfect church worthy outfit to give to Anders for his birthday. She would not accept any help from Julie or Nancy.  This is what she came up with and I love it!
