The Year of The Claw Machine

Every year Birthday dinners in my family have a theme. 2010 was burgers, 2011 breakfast, 2012 Italian and 2013 a restaurant featured on TV. This year we all threw our ideas in a hat and "The Year of the Claw Machine," was drawn.

We celebrated with Papa Bernie at The Red Fox Tavern.

Jeff picked Hmong Village to celebrate his 30th. My first time eating Pho, it was delicious but I would go back for the noodles and spring rolls. Awesome place. Go there!

We celebrated my birthday at Carbones.

One guess who put that idea in. I was annoyed until we went to Fudruckers for Lisa's birthday and realized it was the perfect idea for a family with small kids.

The kids are getting big enough to put at a table by themselves!

Kamp Dells

We camped at Kamp Dells Father's Day weekend.  We all agree it was the best camping experience we had ever had even with a pretty stormy night and a rainy afternoon.

There was a pool and a water park.

Lots of cousin fun!

A playground that was visible from our campsite.

A petting zoo.

Indoor bingo when it was raining.

Pony rides.

Even Grandma camped a night.

Basketball courts.

Firepits that double as sandboxes.

And even a little screen time while we packed up.

Nancy and Norm's

A fun Tuesday at Nancy and Norm's.

Minnehaha Falls

Anders and I went to play at Minnehaha Falls. We had a nice hike but the day was kind of a bust. The splash pad is closed for the whole month of June!

And according to other hikers there were class 4 rapids that day. Which made me feel like this!

 

Play Time

I love late May and early September. The weather is gorgeous and kids aren't out of school yet so the little ones run the playgrounds.

Look, we have the beach all to ourselves!

Bugs at the Minnesota Zoo. Both Anders and Brian weren't all that impressed.

Shopping day. Brian says his lucky shirt must not be working if he was forced to shop all day.

Caponi Art Park has a Tuesday event for kiddos.

Farm School

Anders and I went to farm school this spring. We had so much fun feeding animals, riding horses, playing in the hay loft, collecting eggs, planting the garden, riding the tractor, climbing fences and going on hikes, we can't wait to go back in the fall!
