One fun thing about having kids is reliving stuff you liked to do as a kid, like making Valentine's cards for your class at school.

I still remember picking out the best card.

Using my best penmanship.

Rolling my eyes when Dad teased me about the boys. Insisting there was no one special, but there always was.

I will definitely be checking out this Claire.  The other person Anders really wanted to make a Valentine for was Uncle Ken.  Sorry Maren.

Happy Valentine's Day

I attempted to take some Valentine photos for our photo board at work. I had an adorable picture in my head of Anders holding balloons and hugging Abby.

I gave up right away on the Abby part.

I got lots of shots that looked like this.

I did get one with a smile when Anders was running away.

Before I gave up I even tried bribery. I was so disappointed.

But after I cooled down I was pleasantly surprised that some were actually pretty cute.  This one even made it on the photo board.

Making Muffins

Anders and I successfully made chocolate chip muffins without tears.  He did great dumping and mixing but mostly enjoyed licking.

Sesame Street Live

For Christmas Auntie Maren and family gave us tickets to Sesame Street Live.

These guys were there.

And so were these guys.

We got some great advice to get there early for the preshow. Anders and Elise got up close and personal with a few monsters.

 

Guess who Anders' favorite sesame street character is -  Bert.

Anders has never sat through even an entire 20 minute cartoon so I had no expectations of how the show would go. With the help of some popcorn, lemonade and a glowy/spinny toy he was entertained almost the whole time.

My Little Runaway

Anders got a suitcase for Christmas. He likes to pull it while running away from Mom. I thought I had a few more years before this was a thing. Luckily I'm still faster and he's not great at hiding.

Note, when running away one must not forget to pack one's John Deere.

Winter Program

Anders had his first school program. Out of ten kids only four would stand in front. I was shocked that Anders was one of them because he gets very clingy at the mere mention of day care. As you can imagine a performance by kids ages 16-33 months was chaotic and adorable at the same time.  I was impressed Anders knew the actions to all the songs since he is only at day care about seven days a month.
