Family Time

Since we don't get to see this side of the family often enough one of my favorite things about Michigan is that most of us stay at Jan and Craig's house. The house is bursting at the seems with people sleeping in almost every room but we get to be together from morning to night. And if you can't be there in 3D chances are there will be a flat version of you.

We took a road trip to Michigan to celebrate the 4th of July at Aunt Jan and Uncle Craig's. This year Anders got to stay up for fireworks!

We didn't have to go far for an amazing fireworks show right on their lake!

When we are not traveling, my busy little bee is still having fun at day care. He has to go a whopping three days in July.

We went to the zoo with Jill and crew.

Checked out Kelley Park with Dana and Carrie. I'm loving splash pads this summer since Anders still can't swim independently, it is nice that I don't have to get too wet.

Mille Lacs Kathio State Park

I'm not going to lie we spent a miserable week camping at Mille Lacs Kathio State Park with my family.  I love camping, but the mosquitoes were THAT bad. They chomped through 40% deet like water, so the deet free stuff I put on Anders was a joke.  I have to say my non camping family (we did not grow up camping so this is new to us) were troopers.  And Anders wasn't about to let a few hundred mosquito bites keep him from having fun with his cousins.

The trip wasn't all bad. Besides some quality family time we ate yummy camp food and cruised around in Papa Bernie's boat.

Myre - Big Island State Park

Our first camping trip of the season was with Naty and family at Myre - Big Island State Park.

We have camped with Anders every year since he was an infant (see here and here) and every time I'm amazed by how well he does.  This trip was especially fun because we had the help of his big cousins.  Anders had them all figured out, if he wanted to play guys he went to Zach, catch was Aaron and water or bubbles was Hannah.  They even rode along when Anders decided to take his bike all the way around the loop like the big kids.

They wore him out! Before we even got out of the campground Anders pulled the blanket over his head and slept the entire way home.
