Wild River State Park

We had a beautiful August weekend with no plans. Yes, we should have stayed home and caught up on some much needed housework but there will be plenty of winter months for that! So we packed up at the last minute and went camping.

We took lots of hikes. One of them led us to a nice sandy beach.

But Anders favorite part of the trip was the campfire.

He helped Daddy carry heavy logs.

And collected many sticks to throw on the fire. He is not always the best listener.

Ander got to stay up late enough for a little glow stick action.

Zoo

We had a couple late summer trips to the zoo. First with Grandma Jane and Elise to see the dinosaurs.

Then a class with Grandma Jane and feeding the giraffes.

And a trip to Como Zoo and Como Town with Mom's college friends.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Even though Anders spends his life with a ball stuck under one arm and most nights he sleeps with one, I thought it would be a looooong time before I brought him to his first Twins game.  He is no where near having the attention span to sit through a game but every year Brian and Melody spoil us with some amazing tickets to a Twins game. This year all our sitters were busy, and I wasn't about to miss out, so Anders got to come with.

Fortunately we were in a suite! Told you, spoiled!

He did well but still got a little antsy until Auntie Naty bought him a ball.

Balls have the ability to keep Anders entertained for minutes, and that's saying something.  He even sat and watched five minutes of the game with Uncle Jared.

Luckily there were lots of people to help keep him entertained.

And when all else fails, pull out the nuk. Best. Invention. Ever!

We Fest

Yep, you read that right, Brian and I went to We Fest. I haven't been in 10+ years but it was just as fun as I remembered!

On the Homefront

This picture is from "coffee with the ladies," one of Anders' favorite things to do with Grandma Dorla.

There is an impressive posse of five year old boys in the neighborhood who are nice enough to tolerate Anders copying their every move. Like when they are running around shirtless while packing heat.

South Dakota

We spent a beautiful weekend in Clear Lake, South Dakota with the Grandma Dorla's side of the family. Usually this reunion is so hot we completely enjoyed the chilly weather.

Between Trips

Who am I kidding, we had less than 24 hours between these trips but some other time this summer we

celebrated Autumn's first birthday at The Lake House. For those of you who have had to hear about it, repeatedly, this is also the event where he "played on the girls bed."

We also crashed Sister's Day in Owatonna to check out Vivi's new digs.
